Computer or Tablet Online Tutoring |
The student needs a computer or a tablet, an internet connection, and Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype. On his or her screen, the student will see what I’m writing on paper. The student and I can discuss what we’re working on through the app. And the student may send me (via email or text) copies of any material they’d like me to see.
|
Phone-only Tutoring |
Remote tutoring can also be done by phone — no computer or tablet required. This is a great alternative to online tutoring, especially for short sessions. And it can supplement online tutoring when a student has a few followup questions from a previous online session, or when a student wants to go over a few last minute things for an upcoming test. Phone tutoring can be supplemented with texted pictures of handouts, pages from math books, or handwritten math.
